Welcome To Pacha Mama Art Poems - Bienvenidos A Los Poemas de Pacha Mama
I am very privilaged to offer a series of poems and paintings to you in the form of a book.
Each book will contain 20 poems and 10 prints.
I have chosen to create each book as an original, meaning that they will be individually printed and hand bound by me on request. They will not look like a mass printed book found in stores as I would like to continue with the earthy feel of my work and the books will represent this. They are of paperback size and are printed on premium art paper reflecting the quality of each piece of art included in them.
At the moment Pacha Mama Art has five books for sale:
SONGS FROM MY MOTHER
HORSES OF DREAMTIME
TWENTY POEMS OF LOVE.
FINDING THE WILD WOMAN
WOMAN WITH THE BLACK HAIR
Songs From My Mother (Canciones De Mi Madre) is a reflection of what the word Mother means to me. Reflections of a woman seeking connection and Home in the world and in herself.
Horses Of Dreamtime (Caballos Del Ensueno) explores the relationship I have found with my herd of rescued horses. The poems speak of the love and communion I have found with kindred spirits.
Twenty Poems of Love (Veinte Poemas De Amor)is a personal and poetic reflection on love, in its many shapes and forms. To me this is a hard feeling to understand with its joyous highs and tragic lows, it encompses so much and so many at once. This is an attempt to put into words and pictures this enormous feeling.
Finding The Wild Woman (Encontrando A La Mujer Salvaje) is an exploration about reclaiming the wild side of ourselves. The part of us that is alive and passionate and true. It is written in the form of stories and poems that are symbolic of a journey into finding out who we are and then daring to be it.
Woman With The Black Hair (Mujer De Pelo Negro) is a metaphoric reflection about finding self power and keeping it. It is a book of poems about emancipation of the human spirit.
As a new feature I would like to offer my work not only in English but also in Spanish. If you are a spanish speaking reader or would like a book for a spanish speaking person please email me for a special edition.

PACHA MAMA ART
POEM OF THE WEEK
MY SCARS
MIS SICATRIZES
Along the road,
I have fought many battles.
Some I have won
Others I have lost.
I believe I have always fought bravely
so...
I will no longer hide my battle scars.
I will no longer live ashamed of them.
Instead I will embelish them like fine jewels
I will make a fine cloak out of them, blanket myself in it
And step into the world of men.
This cloak will be my home
I will know it well
And wear it with my head held high.
For this is my lifes' work
Here is the truth of my existance.
Those who do not wish to see it
Can turn away.
I will no longer turn my back on myself.
Tengo muchas sicatrizes
I have many scars
Would you like to see them?

Woman With The Black Hair
Mujer De Pelo Negro
IF A WOMAN REALLY KNOWS HER POWER
SI UNA MUJER REALMENTE CONOCE SU PODER
If a woman truly knows her power
"Hay que temer"
It would make you tremble.
The strength to love
To bear children
To carry on regardless of the obstacles in her path.
The power with which she can move mountains
With her bare hands if she has to
And then...
Cradle an infant tenderly to her breast.
Such contrasts
From one instant to another.
Such transformations
On a daily basis.
From fierce she wolf
Defender and protector
To gentle nurturer and comforter.
The vastness of her heart and mind
Unknown
Unbroken
Unbridled.
If only she knew of her power!

TAMED
DOMADA
Estoy domada
I am tamed.
I am no longer the same woman
She is no longer the same mare.
Once upon a time we were like everyone else.
"But if you tamed me, I would become unique", she said
And she became more than a mere horse
I became more than a mere human.
Together we are special.
She has shown me how to woo her
And in the process
She has wooed me.
Now I am also unique
Because I have been tamed
By a horse.

Twenty Poems of Love
Veinte Poemas De Amor
A POEM ABOUT LOVE
UN POEMA DEL AMOR
This love grows inside me
Like an infant in my womb
I nurture it with tenderness
Dreaming of it's birth
Of nestling it in my arms.
Sometimes this love is overwhelming
I feel it so deeply inside
Comming from me
Living in me.
I give it life
Nourish it with my body
Satisfy it with my pain.
So strong is it becomming
Soon it will exist without me
Outside of me
Inspite of me.
And then...
This love
Will be alive.
And will no longer be just mine
But also yours.

Finding The Wild Woman
Encontrando La Mujer Salvaje
WILD HEART
CORAZON SALVAJE
Here I stand
Face to face
With you.
I have always played by the rules
I have always been nice.
There have been times when I have been treated unfairly
But I have let it go
And still I have continued
To be domesticated.
I have let the world bridle and saddle me
And not complained when I was ridden by careless cowboys.
But enough is enough.
I can no longer deny who I am
There is so much to live
So much to experience
I want to run free.
Mi corazon es salvaje.
I am a woman
And my heart is wild.
Come run with me.

LIGHT THE FIRE
PRENDE EL FUEGO
I gather sticks
I gather kindling
Prende ese fuego!
Light that fire!
My job is to keep it burning
Keep my home warm.
It is a symbol of life
It is the heart of this place.
I tend to it
Adding a stick at a time
Mesmerized
Warm.
Its glow comforts
And soothes me inside.
In the same way
I have been gathering the materials
To light a fire witin myself.
An all consuming fire
A raging fire at the heart of my being.
From this point
Heat will radiate
All over me
All over my life.
My job is simple;
Keep it burning.
Care for it
Keep it alive.
I can no longer exist without this fire within
To be without it is to be cold and hungry
Alone and scared.
I have lit the fire
It is burning brightly
And...
I am Alive!
